- Online: Oct. 9 — By 5 p.m. Online registration requires an NCDMV ID.
- By mail: postmarked by Oct. 9 — If the postmark is missing or unclear, it must arrive by Oct. 14.
- In person: Oct. 9 — At a registration agency by 5 p.m. After that, use same-day registration at early voting sites.

Same-day registration: available, during early voting. At early voting sites Oct. 15 to 31 (until 3 p.m. on Oct. 31); not on Election Day.
